Kayaking adventure weekend

Empowering those with low vision: A special kayaking weekend event introduced several youth, adults and their families to the water sport.

Hosted by Team River Runner’s KAOS (Kids Are OuttaSight) program, the event was coordinated by Jennifer Eaton, youth services manager at VisionCorps.

Visiting kayakers included Lonnie Bedwell and Steve Baskis, two veterans who are blind who kayaked the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. They helped guide youth, adults, and family members in kayaking on Lake Williams in York County.
