VisionCorps relies on support from the community. With a variety of ways to give, VisionCorps works with donors to individualize giving opportunities. Beyond monetary donations, the community can support special events, like the Eye Drop Rappelling Event held annually, or volunteer. These fundraising programs help secure the future of VisionCorps services as the need is expected to grow significantly with an aging baby boomer population.

By 2050, the number of people who are blind in The United States is expected to double from what it was in 2010. Residents in VisionCorps’ service area rely on the comprehensive services provided to them by specialized staff—and that need will continue to grow with the anticipated increased demand. VisionCorps is the only private nonprofit providing these services in the counties it calls home—Adams, Chester, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York. Long-term support of these services is critical to the independence of residents of South Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

The Business & Industry Group fulfills contracts with manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and distribution. In addition to manufacturing, group capabilities also include food processing and administrative services — contract management, specifically. Contracts are held both commercially and with government agencies such as Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and the PA Turnpike Commission. VisionCorps’ Business & Industry Group is ISO 9001:2015 certified, consistently providing products and services that meet stringent customer and federal regulatory requirements.

The unemployment rate for people who are blind nationwide is 70%.
