Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Specialist plays a key role in managing and optimizing the flow of goods, services, and information within an organization. Their responsibilities typically involve procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, and process improvement to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the supply chain.
Education, Experience, & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in any of the following fields (Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Operations Management) with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in supply chain management, procurement, inventory control or logistics
• Associate’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years in supply chain management, procurement, inventory control or logistics can substitute a bachelor’s degree Certifications (CSCP, CPSM, Six Sigma) are a plus
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Inventory management tools and logistics software
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Ability to analyze supply chain data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify trends or inefficiencies
• Proficient knowledge of procurement processes, logistics planning, inventory control strategies, and demand forecasting
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Purchasing:• Coordinate and manage the purchase of materials, supplies, and equipment as per company requirements
• Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
• Create and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring compliance with budget and specifications
• Work closely with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain or delivery issues
• Monitor market trends to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities
• Maintain and update vendor information, ensuring accurate communication channels
• Conduct strategic decision-making, such as supplier contract negotiations, policy development, or supply chain strategy
• Exercise a high degree of independent judgment and discretion over procurement decisions beyond routine purchasing
• Serve as the procurement team by driving various procurement projectsInventory Control:
• Maintain accurate inventory records using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Track stock levels and reorder materials to prevent stockouts or overstock situations
• Perform regular stock audits and reconcile physical inventory with recorded stock levels
• Identify and address discrepancies in inventory records, conducting root cause analysis when necessary
• Implement and monitor inventory control procedures, including safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, and reorder points
• Assist in inventoinventory forecasting based on production needs, sales data, and historical trendsData Management and Reporting:
• Generate regular inventory reports, highlighting stock levels, slow-moving items, and procurement status
• Analyze inventory turnover and stock aging to recommend improvements
• Track and report on supplier performance, including delivery times, quality, and pricing consistency
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year end reports for management and financeCollaboration and Communication
• Work closely with internal teams (e.g. production, quality, finance) to understand material requirements and provide timely updates on stock status
• Resolve issues related to inventory shortages, damaged goods, returns, or order discrepancies• Ensure effective communication between the procurement team, warehouse, and vendors to ensure smooth operations
Other duties as assignedPhysical Demands:
• Ability to work a minimum of full-time hours; overtime required based on Operations department schedules
• Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle and/or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 poundsWork Environment
• Work in an office environment and remote
• Travel up to 10% of the time, which may include public-facing forums and company-sponsored events -
