  • POSITION SUMMARY-
    The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that shipping, receiving, pre-production, production, and end item inspection are meeting requirements while acting in accordance with the company values, vision and mission.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-

    • Review and follow all Quality Procedures (including
    • Using our Shared computer files, locate purchase orders for the products to be received.
    • Inspect the materials to verify that they meet the purchase requirements listed on the PO and follow the Receiving Inspection Procedure, EG 5.15 and any other details listed in the Production Process Plan.
    • Follow the Non-Conforming Product Procedure as needed
    • Complete appropriate traceability forms and attach to product/ product containers.
    • Collect traceability forms as product is started or finished and submit for record keeping.
    • Verify/document production start and stop dates with appropriate line lead and/or supervisor.
    • Ability to work with barcoding program
    • Review the product Production Process Plan and product drawings as needed.
    • Visually inspect non-calibrated scales and GO/NOGO gages in production area.
    • Inspect calibrated weight scales in production for damage.
    • Document rework and scrap product on the in-process inspection form and place in appropriate containers.
    • Inspect product at appropriate production steps.
    • Maintenance of all on-line records
    • Perform end item inspections as needed and document results.
    • Review the Ship Ready form for content.

    • Ensure shipment quantity and product is correct.
    • Ensure correct labels are applied.
    • Complete your on-line time sheet.
    • Complete and submit your “request for time off”.
    • Enter inspection data to produce inspection reports, using spreadsheets, if necessary.
    • Enter non-calibrated tool visual inspection results into appropriate electronic forms.

    Other Job Functions:
    Participate in monthly Department meetings
    Participate in Company events
    Keep up to date on all training
    Any other duties or special projects assigned by the Quality Supervisor

    Education and Work Experience:
    • 1 year experience required in quality control inspection and/or manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with ISO 9001-2015, Quality Management System compliance, including procedural reviews and updates.
    • Knowledge of and experience in many manufacturing processes, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment and inventory management.
    • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English
    • Ability to work with percentages, convert fractions to decimals, ounces to pounds, inches to feet/yards, volume measurement versus weight measurement

    Working Conditions
    • Must be able to work in the production area
    • Must be able to sit at car for periods of time
    • Must be able to travel to other location

    Physical Demands
    • Must be able to carry, lift, and push equipment up to 50lbs.
    • Must be able to spend considerate amount of time stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
    • Fine motor skills – use hands to finger, handle or feel
    • Visual acuity – close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • Must be able to travel safely and independently
    • Must be able to verbally communicate and hear
