    Position Summary:
    The KidSight Coordinator is responsible for organizing and administering vision screenings and educational programs for children ages 6 and under while acting in accordance with the company values, vision and mission.

    Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, education or related field preferred
    • 2 years of professional experience working with children
    • Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology of the eye including knowledge of the leading causes of vision loss
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Clearances: Must obtain or pass Pennsylvania clearances for Criminal History, Child Abuse, and Motor Vehicle Record
    • Certification in CPR and First Aid or ability to become certified

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promotes, schedules and coordinates vision screenings with preschool and childcare providers
    • Conducts vision screenings, using an autorefractor and manual tests to assess common vision issues including acuity, field loss, alignment, muscular imbalance and other related conditions in children under the age of 6
    • Gathers and analyzes results of each screening to provide informed recommendations regarding the need for a comprehensive eye exam.
    • Communicates with parents/guardians of referred children, explaining screening results, assisting with locating eye care providers and documenting outcomes of the eye exam
    • Maintains appropriate documentation of all screenings and follow-up services in CRM and associated paperwork
    • Builds and cultivates partnerships with community agencies to promote the KidSight program
    • Delivers educational programs to children and adults on topics such as blindness, vision loss prevention, eye-health, and VisionCorps services
    • Occasionally assists with health fairs, vision screenings for individuals over the age of 6 and the delivery of general blindness rehabilitation services
    • Works as part of a team with other VisionCorps professionals, volunteers, and staff
    • Keeps up to date on advances in the field of vision loss, rehabilitation, and screening techniques through training, seminars, and other educational avenues
    • Meetings & Events: Actively participates in monthly department meetings, company events, and required training sessions
    • Other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to work a minimum of full-time hours; overtime required based on Rehabilitation department schedules
    • Fine motor skills – use hands to finger, handle or feel
    • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle and/or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
    • Occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time which may include vehicle
    • Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds
    • Must be able to travel independently and safely in most environments

    Work Environment

    Provide services in community (childcare facilities, preschools, community centers etc.)
    Travel up to 40% of the time, which may also include public-facing forums and company-sponsored events
