  • VisionCorps, a values driven organization, has an exciting employment opportunity for a full time Manufacturing Engineer in our Lancaster Facility.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Research, develop and recommend new business lines, working closely with management
    • Create business plans for recommended new lines including, but not limited to, cost analysis, manufacturing line development, and pallet patterns
    • Project management of VisionCorps’ existing or new facility maintenance, renovation, and construction that includes time studies to establish labor output.
    • Oversee the installation of new manufacturing equipment and ensure they are performing efficiently
    • Provide assistance to people working the production lines, adjusting equipment issues and coaching them to limit user errors
    • Develop working relationships with other National Industries for the Blind (NIB) agencies
    • Develop working relationships with NIB rehabilitation engineering team
    • Complete CAD drawings
    • Have a working understanding of federal government and military standards
    • Administer and review equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that VisionCorps’ procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational
    • Responsible for overseeing and developing maintenance staff, which includes 1v1’s and Performance Reviews
    • Administer and review VisionCorps’ LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out) safety program
    • Review manufacturing processes and make recommendations to improve productivity and ensure we are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
    • Validate VisionCorps’ QMS processes and make continuous improvement recommendations
    • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and provide management with reports that enable management to better understand and make strategic decisions
    • Participate in monthly Department meetings
    • Participate in Company events
    • Keep up to date on all training
    • Other duties as assigned

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering
    • Professional Engineer License for the Commonwealth of PA preferred
    • 3-5 years’ engineering experience
    • Prior experience managing a team or department
    • Project Management experience
    • Learn Six Sigma or equivalent certification preferred
    • Experience with Textile manufacturing preferred
    • Experience in food manufacturing a plus

    Working Conditions:

    • Sit at a desk for periods of time
    • Stand on production floor/line for periods of time
    • Travel to multiple manufacturing facilities
    • Operate a motor vehicle

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to carry, lift and push equipment/materials up to 75 – 100lbs
    • Must be able to spend considerable time stooping, kneeling, and crouching
    • Must be able to operate light industrial equipment
    • Performing computer work and speaking on the phone
    • Independent travel
